About UsThe WorkCare Group, Inc.®, located in Charlottesville, Virginia, was founded by George Pfeiffer, a recognized authority on worksite health promotion and health and productivity management. The WorkCare Group provides products and consulting for complete employee support services. George Pfeiffer has more than three decades of experience in health communications and program design. Among his accomplishments, Pfeiffer was creator and program manager of the award-winning Xerox Health Management Program and vice president of The Travelers' Center for Corporate Health Promotion. Organizations such as General Electric, UAW-GM, GlaxoSmithKline, Honeywell, Mobil Corporation, IBM, Xerox, The Travelers, the University of Michigan, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, and the American Heart Association have sought his expertise throughout the years. In 1984, the U.S. Jaycees, Allstate Insurance, and the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports presented Pfeiffer with the Healthy American Fitness Leaders Award for his pioneering efforts in worksite health promotion. A 1982 recipient of the Silver Inkwell Award from the International Association of Business Communicators, he was also honored in 1990 with a gold medal for marketing communications from The Academy for Health Services Marketing. In 1994, he received the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award from the Association of Worksite Health Promotion (AWHP). He served for 8 years as senior co-editor of the AWHP's Worksite Health journal. In the past 11 years, The WorkCare Group has won 17 National Health Information Awards for the outstanding quality of its publications, and has also been the recipient of the Association for Worksite Health Promotion's media award.
