Healthy Approaches Plus™
This web-based application provides a cost-effective health risk appraisal/risk intervention system for employees in small to medium health plans. The Web site offers comprehensive and individualized resources that are completely confidential and password protected; in addition, Healthy Approaches Plus provides aggregate group reports that can be customized to an organization’s data requirements. The site offers practical tools, accurate health information, inspiring stories, and virtual wellness coaches to help employees take active steps towards improving their health. Health Approaches Plus offers a variety of programming features, including:
- HealthCourse™:A Health Risk Assessment that is NCQA compatible and offers an immediate, confidential assessment of an individual’s relative health risks and how those risks could affect the individual in the future. It includes a separate management reporting function for real time aggregate data. Data can be exported for integration with other fields such as health claims and absenteeism.
- 10,000 Steps Program: An interactive program that encourages employees to increase their activity level by walking with a pedometer.
- MyViews™: A mini-risk summary that is updated automatically each time you complete the HealthCourse. By displaying individualized and current information, MyViews provides employees with an important tool for managing their health.
- Healthy Approaches Modules: Lifestyle-related modules that offer proven and practical approaches for reaching your health goals. Choose between 11 modules—including Blood Pressure, Stress, and Diabetes—and work through the five stages of change (Not ready to change; Thinking about it; Getting Ready; Doing it; Sticking with it).
- Discussion Boards: Post questions on electronic bulletin boards and share your experiences with others who are also in the process of changing.
- Special Issues: Modules that deal with four special issues that may be important to the health and well-being of your employees. Topics include: Childhood Immunizations, Prenatal Risk Assessment, Safe Sex Practices, and Understanding Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
- Chronic Conditions: A section that provides employees with more information regarding chronic conditions. Highlighted modules deal with issues such as depression, heart disease, and stroke.
- Customization: The application can be customized to an organization’s programming and data requirements. In addition, program staff can be highlighted within the virtual coaching feature.
